AFRICA FOOTGOAL is a conference 100% dedicated to football, initiated by JAPPO Sports & Entertainment (JSE) in 2021. After two editions organized online in 2021 and 2022, this 2025 edition will be in person in Dakar (Senegal).
AFRICA FOOTGOAL is simply a response to a growing need for professionalization of African football, a booming sector that requires structures, training, exchanges of expertise and an efficient and adapted economic model to optimize performance at all levels.
AFRICA FOOTGOAL takes place each year in a different African country and aims to showcase the African football industry (players, managers, journalists, etc.) so that the professionalization of football becomes a tangible reality throughout Africa.
Mr. Diamil Faye, who has a long experience of the Olympic movement which he has served since 1993, is the President of the JAPPO Olympique club of Guédiawaye since 2022. Before this experience, he was President of Guédiawaye FC, a Professional Football club in Senegalese Ligue 1, from 2011 to 2017.
When he took the club in 2011, it was bankrupt and, after five years he made it the second best club in the Country thanks to an innovative approach, good governance and efficient management principles.
From 2012 to 2022, Diamil worked as a FIFA Consultant, supporting several African Football Federations with their development programs.
Beyond football, Diamil is a major player in international sport. He is the owner of the sportwear brand “JSPORTS”, the preferred brand of several African delegations for Africa at the Olympic Games since London 2012.
Diamil also worked for the organizing committees of the Summer Olympic Games in Sydney (2000), Athens (2004), Beijing (2008), for the restructuring of ANOCA and played a key role in the organization of the African Games since 2009.

Consult the first AFRICA FOOTGOAL magazine, edition 2021 whose main theme was: professionalization, viaticum of the industrialization of football in Africa
it was a great pleasure to participate in this conference and I encourage the organizers to repeat conferences like this to talk about football, especially African football and in general football in general and to encourage investors to come. It was really a real pleasure to participate in this conference.
I hope this initiative continues and is repeated. I believe that trade is very weak between African countries, it is one of the big problems, it is the main problem you could say. We are sometimes economically dependent on people who are not in our continent. East- whether it is because of us or because of other people, it is of course a bit of both. So the men who took this initiative although they are thanked by all of us, by me in any case, and I think that they are doing good to their continent and to their brothers.
I would like to congratulate this organization. I think it’s a very nice conference. On the theme for which I was invited, which is governance, I find that the composition of the panel was particularly well chosen since we had representatives of the public authorities with the Minister, we had representatives of FIFA, representatives of the professional leagues and I think that allowed us to have a very rich exchange on the way in which African football is governed today, the way it tries to find development paths, and then chart a rich economic future .
Africa Footgoall is a welcome initiative and I hope that the world of football will have the opportunity to follow future editions. Hats off to JAPPO, its President and all its collaborators who enabled the success of this great platform for the promotion and development of African football.
I am very honored to have participated with eminent scientists and great football connoisseurs and great players, people who made me dream, whom I followed on screens, whom I saw move, etc. What this conference brings is precisely this scientific perspective.whether it is because of us or because of other people, it is of course a bit of both. So the men who took this initiative although they are thanked by all of us, by me in any case, and I think that they are doing good to their continent and to their brothers.
This type of initiative is always a way to build bridges and learn from others because in the end everyone knows the talents that there are in Africa, and how good players, good matches, good teams play in Africa.whether it is because of us or because of other people, it is of course a bit of both. So the men who took this initiative although they are thanked by all of us, by me in any case, and I think that they are doing good to their continent and to their brothers.
This conference allowed us to address a very important subject, which is the governance of football, football itself which is anchored in our morals, which is a very important instrument, which precisely allows us to resolve questions in our society. I would therefore like to congratulate the initiators of AFRICA FOOTGOAL and recommend that this conference can be duplicated, continue, that many initiatives be taken which will allow us to go in depth, in even more specialized themes so that our football governance can experience an even better tomorrow.
The objective of this conference is twofold. First, to connect players in African sport, in a sort of South-South dialogue in order to look at what we are doing in our area. Then, it must be remembered that we are not leaders in administrative, financial or technical management. We must therefore find a mix between what we do in Africa and what is done outside and see what we could draw inspiration from for the development of African football and take a step forward for the benefit of continental football.
